Beautifully constructed from oak with a brass coin slot to the top. With a simple mechanism to hold closed and release by sliding, this was not designed for security. There is a name stamped on the bottom, which may be the maker W. A lovely period piece, perfect to use and enjoy. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character.
