Vintage-English Repeater Carriage Clock With Lever Escapement-GWO With Key-c1920

Antique early 20th Century Lovely Quality English Carriage Clock with repeating chimes in good used condition and in working order, the clock features a Gilded matt to the dial which is in the convex style with turned roundel centre, white and black enamel gallery Arabic display with Black Steel hands, side walls and back door to the clock case are fitted with bevelled glass windows, top of the clock features a raised dais type window in an oval shape so as to view the balance. Movement is English with Lever escapement and weighted balance, key wound to the reverse along with coiled chime in working order, original Double ended key is included so as to serve for setting hte hands and winding the movement.

The bottom rim to the clock case is hand engraved with the legend Presented to T. Richards By Friends At Weston September 1920. There are a couple of signs of wear in as much that there is a chip to the upper left glass pane of the left panel (with clock dial facing out) and a stress mark to one edge of the to dais viewing pane, also the bun handle to the swing door at the reverse of the clock case is missing its handle fitting, that being said the movement is in fine working order, keeping time and running strong to a beat. The clock is an unsigned movement as far as i can see but of a good quality. The clock stands 13 cm tall (excluding hinged carry handle) and has a width and depth of 9.5 cm and 8.5 cm respectively. Will benefit from a gentle clean and polish but is otherwise ready to be used and displayed making for a handsome addition to the home.
