Superb Vintage / Antique (1930s) Ornate English Walker & Co (Sheffield - UK) "Country Scene" Pewter Snuff Box / Pill Box (2.5/6cm, 84.5g). Breathtaking quality and in superb condition. Beautifully handcrafted by master English craftsmen of the highest order. Opens and closes with a lovely snap. Needs to be seen and handled close up to be fully appreciated as the photographs attached really do not do it justice. In fact I'd go as far as to say if you are looking for one such item, you'd be hard pressed to find too many better quality in pewter.

Mary's Street, Sheffield from 1907 to 1912 and subsequently at 21 Cambridge St from 1913 to 1918 prior to obtaining their premises at 91 Button St, were they remained from 1919 to 1935. In 1924 the firm became a limited company and also produced silver and electroplated silver wares. Walker & Co were traditionally English pewterers and are not to be confused with another esteemed English firm Walker & Hall who were predominantly silversmiths.
