The surface of this impressive example of vintage silverware is plain and unembellished. The fine and impressive raised Chippendale shaped border is ornamented with an applied scroll and bead decorated border to the rim. The decoration to the rim incorporates large scrolling leaf designs with alternating collared leaf motifs.
This English silver salver is supported by four impressive volute scrolling feet accented with chased leaf decoration. The underside of the salver bears the retailer"s mark "Mappin & Webb Ltd, Sheffield & London in addition to the full hallmarks. This vintage English silver salver is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The salver has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the salver are all very clear.
