This is a beautiful and rare cased set of vintage 1953 sterling silver gilt and floral enamel coffee bean spoons. Each is embellished with a different flower including a rose, red bells and cornflowers.
The original gilding remains strong, this thin layer of gold gives a protective as well as aesthetic effect to the silver. The spoons are fully hallmarked, each with an additional tiny lion passant mark (sterling standard) on the back of the handle. HALLMARKS : Birmingham, SILVER fineness 925. Length 9.8cm (3 7/8) approx. All in good condition except for minor wear to the leaves and petals of the rose.
