Original antique oil painting of two elderly ladies picking flowers from large bushes on a homestead farm -- the beautiful and elaborate house is shown in the background -- this was with other paintings from the New York/Pennsylvania area of 1840s/1850s vintage, so my guess this is from that area and time period, though it is possibly English -- it is not signed - - -- the painting measures app. The frame is about 16 by 20 in. Some craquelure -- overall age toning and darkening to the surface -- canvas has been laid up onto masonite board // some moderate wear to the frame edges: a little nicking to the finish --- as with any estate find painting, this would likely benefit from professional cleaning.
