A rare early 20th Century example of an English hand-crafted Aunt Sally parlour game. Made from pine wood this item has 4 wooden throwing sticks, 1 aunt sally figure and several clay pipes With its original lithograph printed box this item is in complete untouched original condition. Size in inches of box: H 8" x W 22" x D 8" Figure: H 10" x W 2.5" x D 2.5" The game dates back to the 17th century, although the name "Aunt Sally" may have been a later addition. This game was traditionally played in central English pubs and fairgrounds.

An Aunt Sally was originally the modelled head of an old woman with a clay pipe in her mouth; the object was for players to throw sticks at the head to break the pipe.
