A stunning and rare doulton lambeth stoneware pitcher jug originally used in Victoria times to dispense whiskey. Wonderful salt glaze in earthy brown and fantastic sculptural form to the globular body and angular handle make this a truly attractive piece and so tactile.
This is a pitcher we have had for around 10 years and was my grannies before that and I can remember this sitting on the mantle piece above the fire for most of my life. Looks great in a mid century setting too with a mixture of ceramics and glassware.Remained in superb condition with just a few nibbles around the rim and spout as shown.
