Gorgeous Antique / Vintage circa 1918 Wooden (Old English Oak) Desk Tidy. With Silver plated Rails & Decoration. Front/centre is an engraved shield with the letters BSR.
Mounted on the top surface are two square silver plated keeps for the glass ink pots. 2 Solid Glass Inkwells (2 square). The ink pots both have silver plated (EPNS) collars and hinged lids. (The silver plating is quite worn in places commensurate with the age).
Towards the front of the stand are two brackets that form the pen rest. A Lovely Display and Usable Unit with provenance (See below). The unit sits upon 4 silver plated ball feet.On the underside of this unit is a Presentation Message. Roberts by the staff of the Tribunal Dept, Sunderland Recruiting Area on the occasion of his marriage 2nd April 1918. (11.5cm) Tall to top of rear rail. In Very good used condition.
