Please note, since this item has been listed, it has come to my attention that the hinge pin is missing. It is very similar to a watchband pin. The photos show the lid open by the hinge but a customer messaged me to ask some questions and it was then I noticed it simply disappeared in storage.
This is a very interesting, ornate & lovely piece that has multiple uses besides the intended biscuits or cookies! I can see this acting as a planter box for herbs, flowers or a house plant but of course this is just one of many ideas. Also comes with the original appraisal typed & dated April 8, 1972 from S. Wyler, INC in New York City & signed by Seymour Wyler the president of the Co. Please note, while it's in overall great condition, it does need some polishing up unless you prefer that look of age & antiquity.I understand "Sheffield" means silver over copper so that's what this is. The lid is 5"x 6" The base is 8" x 7" with an imprint W. PLEASE MESSAGE ME FOR UPDATED, CLEARER PHOTOS.
I'm having technical difficulties with listing them.
