Front: Greek key pattern around the keyhole side and stamped'379'. Reverse: Raised Retriever head and marked'Made in England Pat Pending'. The patent number is not shown on the padlock (as the case construction patent was pending and had not yet been issued a number). However this patent design was applied for in 1926 and granted in 1927 to Frederick William Pinson of Willenhall under patent 267348 (GB267348A).
