It's an original and genuine, hand-carved bucket carrier from the 19th century. This is very well made, carved and turned from a single piece of wood, with original, blacksmith-made, ironwork.

These were once very common, with many homes needing a yoke and a willing maid. This would probably still perform it's original purpose, if you knew someone keen; and had two buckets that needed to be moved. It has had woodworm at some point in the past. Very common in wood this age.

It is not live, i have checked. The colour and patina of this piece is really great.

The ironwork is all in excellent condition. Please see the photos and feel free to ask any questions. Measuring 35 inches across the shoulders, it weighs only 1.9 kilos and features a chain drop of 29 inches to the hooks. It is a antique farm tool that will add a touch of rural charm to any home.
