A marvellous 19th century English ceramic mortar and two pestles. The mortar is generously proportioned and exceptionally heavy. In marvellous condition, it is free from chips and cracks, with expected signs of aging to the outside; exceptionally clean and unblemished inside.
The pestles are graded in size, one being an 8 and the other a 5. The larger one has signs of usage, the smaller one less so. Both with turned beech handles with a beautiful grain.
20 x 21 cms wide.
