A tankard made by Worcester around 1780. It is decorated with a fun under glaze blue design including a parrot sitting on a tree trying to get to some fruit below him. Lot of detail to the design including a large butterfly to the other side. Typical grooved handle shape and a nice size piece make this your perfect piece for your next cold one : The mug is in superb condition with a crack to the top part of the handle as shown and a faint glaze line to the bottom which cannot be seen from the top. The usual firing issues one finds on early pieces but nothing that bothers you when you use it or display it.
The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crescent mark as shown and is just under 5 inches tall and 3.375 inches in diameter. Wall First 1st period Porzellan Humpen 18th century.
